GERIATRIC CARE FOR YOUR OLDER PET
When cats reach the age of nine (9), and dogs get to the age of seven (7), they enter their senior years. Medical problems that can affect our older pets include kidney disease, dental disease, liver disease, endocrine disease, heart disease, arthritis and cancer.
We recommend our senior wellness package. This includes a wellness exam, full comprehensive blood panel, thyroid test and urinalysis. This panel gives us a remarkable amount of information about how well your pet is aging.
These same diseases can be diagnosed in younger pets, but their incidence increases once they reach senior status. Early detection is the key, and we offer diagnostic screening for our older patients to aid in the early diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.
Ask us to help you tailor a senior program that will allow you to enjoy many happy, healthy years with your pet.
